Artist's Description

Millennium Park in Chicago, Illinois has many beautiful attractions. One of the most amazing is Cloud Gate, a public sculpture by Indian-born British artist Anish Kapoor. It is nicknamed "The Bean" for obvious reasons. It is constructed of stainless steel and reflects and distorts the Chicago skyline. The sculpture was inspired by the qualities of mercury, and was dedicated in 2006. It was one of many beautiful and impressive sights that I clearly remember from my cross-country photography trip in 2008.
