One of the best parts about a vacation is sleeping late, but that can be catastrophic when you are a photographer. With a July sunrise on Canada's Lake Louise taking place at 5:49 a. m., I set my alarm for 5:00, and was out there by 5:30, hoping for a great sunrise. After waiting patiently for the morning's light, what I got was an absolutely AMAZING sunrise which began with cotton-candy pink clouds and ended up with the sun's rays bathing the tips of Mount Temple, Mount Whyte, and Mount Niblock in shades of orange and gold, beautifully reflected in the dark morning turquoise of one of the World's most famous lakes, beloved by Canadians from Alberta and far beyond.
Mitchell R.Grosky is an award-winning fine arts photographer who specializes in landscape photography, as well as seascape, cityscape, and travel photography. Mr.Grosky is based in a small town in Central Massachusetts, which is the subject of his first major photography book, "The North Quabbin and Beyond: A Photographic Tribute."
